Why Use a Serviced Apartment When Visiting Your Children at University?

with No Comments

One of the great things about having children at university is having an excuse to visit different parts of the country to see them. When you do, you should strongly consider booking a serviced apartment instead of a hotel room, and here are just a few reasons why.

Space for the Family

A serviced apartment is almost always a lot roomier than a hotel room, which is nice if you’re going to be bringing the family together. Whether you simply want to sit around and talk or put your feet up and watch a film in each other’s company, it’s always more pleasant to do so in a place with a separate living area. It feels more like a home away from home, a far cry from what you’ll find in a hotel.

Central Location

In most cases, a hotel will be positioned outside the city centre – they’re simply too large to be right in the middle of things. In contrast, serviced apartments can be found right in the centre of the city. In most cities, this is right where the university buildings are. You don’t want to spend time getting to and fro each day when you simply want to see your children, so opting for city centre accommodation only makes sense.

Zero Embarrassment

Okay, this one is more a point your children are going to agree on. The fact is, most won’t love the idea of you visiting them in their halls of residence or student house. Not that you’ll be banished, but it’s not much fun sitting around a student kitchen trying to catch up as other young people bustle around you. Much nicer to have a separate spot when you all get together.

The Conveniences of Home

You could simply stay in a hotel, but hotels are generally geared towards tourists instead of those simply visiting to see someone. As such, they tend to miss out on most of the comforts and conveniences of home. With a serviced apartment, you’ll have a kitchen and laundry facilities, plus the space you’d enjoy in a regular apartment.
