How Do Caravan Holidays Save Money?

with No Comments

Holidays are expensive. On average, a family of four spends more than 4000 EUR on a single holiday. For many, especially nowadays, that’s simply not doable.

Luckily, there is a way to enjoy an amazing holiday without spending quite as much. Caravan holidays help you save money without sacrificing fun with the family.

Today, we’re going to go over exactly how that works, and we’re sure you’ll end up having the best caravan holiday Devon can offer without breaking the bank.

1: No Accommodations

When you take a caravan on holiday, you don’t have to worry about renting accommodations. Your hotel room is right there in your vehicle; complete with everything you need to live pretty close to how you do at home.

The cost of accommodation is a massive part of why your vacation bill is so high.

Now, you can’t just pull your caravan over wherever you see fit and sleep for free. You do still need to pay for a spot in a holiday park or similar area.

However, when you do that, you pay about 20 to 30 EUR per night. That is far cheaper than the 200+ you would pay for a hotel or similar accommodation.

2: Self-Made Meals

Food is another big cost for vacation. Typically, people will spend the entire vacation eating out at restaurants, gastro pubs, and other eateries. It’s alright to do that maybe once per day or every other day; you are on vacation, after all. However, it’s not feasible for staying within a budget to do it every single day, for every single meal.

In a caravan, you can cook meals just like you would at home. This allows you to dramatically cut the costs of your vacation, and yes, it’s not quite the same as just enjoying a new restaurant three times a day, but it is far more cost-effective.

If you want to still experience something new, try visiting the local farmer’s markets and grocery stands. You’re bound to find something new to cook, and if you’re traveling abroad, it’ll be sure to test your cooking skills.

3: Travel Costs

Fuel prices are high, but they’re still far more affordable than buying several round-trip plane tickets. When you travel to your destination via caravan, you can save a bit of money to spend when you’re actually at the place you want to enjoy.

Also, you can always use more cost-effective transportation once you get to where you’re going. Park the camper van, hop on public transit and enjoy affordable travel.

4: Return Fees

When you travel by plane, or even in a cramped car, and you buy a lot of souvenirs, you typically have to mail your purchases back home. That costs more money after you’ve likely drained your bank account on the vacation.

Caravans are spacious, and yes, you might need to feel a little cramped for a few hours driving home, but at least you won’t have to pay to have everything delivered.

Save Money with a Caravan Holiday

Caravan holidays save you money in several ways, and they’re more comfortable than hotels. So, why not try one out this holiday season? We’re sure your bank account will appreciate it.
