Looking for great places to walk with a dog in the United Kingdom? For those pet owners who are tired of the same walkies and need a great place to enjoy fresh air and new scenery, Devoted Pet Foods has recommendations for the best trails out there. Devoted Pet Foods recommends these five trails which are part of the National Trust which are sure to give both the dog owner and pet a smile.

Arden Way and River Arrow Dog Walk, Coughton Court, Alchester, Warwickshire

Arden Way and River Arrow Dog Walk is an amazingly scenic walk that goes over gentle terrain and takes about an hour to enjoy. This two mile or 3.2 kilometer trail starts from the Coughton Court parking lot and follows the River Arrow on National Trust land. Hikers and their pets then head right into the Heart of England Forest. Dogs will enjoy the river and owners will enjoy the bright hedge along the path if they walk in the spring.

Down on the Duver, St Helens Duver, Isle of Wight

This coastal walk along the duver on the eastern tip of the island is relatively easy and takes between an hour and a hour and a half to complete. It is 1.6 miles or 2.6 kilometers and gives dogs and their owners views of Bembridge Harbour, St Helens Common, and Old Church St Helens. Start the walk at left of the Interpretation Panel at the National Trust car park.

Castle Ward Countryside Walk, Castle Ward, Strangford, Downpatrick, County Down

Dog owners will enjoy the panoramic views of the Lecale countryside as they walk their best friends on this easy 4 kilometer or 2.5 mile trail in less than one hour. Pet owners and their dogs will enjoy seeing the abundant wildlife along Strangford Lough and owners will enjoy seeing 8th century the quaint home and gameskeeper cottage.

The White Cliffs of Dover

The White Cliffs of Dover offer amazing views when it comes to walking dogs. Because there are nesting birds, ponies, and areas at the top of the cliffs are not fenced, owners should keep their dogs on lead, or in complete control, at all times. The walk provides an exhilarating view for pets and owners alike.

Chapel Cliff Walk, Polperro, South East Cornwall

For those looking for a more moderate exercise trail, the Chapel Cliff Walk provides 1.6 kilometers or one mile of challenge. It will take about 30 to 40 minutes to complete the walk, but don’t think the shortness of the walk means it’s easy. Hikers will get excellent views of the coast all the way to Devon and Cornwall, and views of the ancient fishing village of Polperro. Hikers will also see caves and an old net loft on the walk.

Devoted Pet Foods recommends these five walks which are just a sample of terrific walks throughout the United Kingdom. Pet owners never have to settle for the same old boring walkies ever again.
